What we do
The University Choir of Florence is a mixed choir (with male and female voices), with a repertoire predominantly a cappella drawn from the European classical tradition. Its objective is to promote choral music in the university and city context, also through participation and organization of concerts, competitions, and festivals. Participation in the choir’s activities is open to all those who attend or work at the University of Florence.
The association organizes regular rehearsals throughout the academic year (from September to June) twice a week, during which vocal technique and music reading courses are also held.
The association has collaborated with university choirs in Palermo, Trieste, Parma, Salerno, Perugia, Siena, Pisa, Hartford (USA), Lyon, Budapest, Rome Tor Vergata, Camerino, Modena and Reggio Emilia, Bolzano, Venice, Ferrara, Bologna, Konstanz (Germany).
The choir is a member of A.C.T. (Tuscany Choirs Association) and Feniarco.
